Cantonal Hospital Aarau relies on QUMEA
July 21, 2022

The Stroke Center of the Cantonal Hospital Aarau (KSA) remains in the pioneering role: In 2013, it was the first Stroke Center in Northwestern and Central Switzerland to be officially certified, and it has just become the first Stroke Center to be equipped with the QUMEA mobility monitoring solution for optimal patient safety and comfort.

Following the successful pilot phase, Ward 431 (Neurology & Stroke Center) will be fully equipped with this new, powerful mobility monitoring solution. Ward Manager Michèle Lang-Nussbaumer says: «Especially in neurology, uninterrupted patient monitoring and early notification around the clock is of great value. We don’t miss any patients waking up or getting out of bed and can thus effectively prevent falls. In addition to patient safety, it also increases the safety of us caregivers because we can be in the right place at the right time.»

In the hospital environment, systems must prove themselves under complex conditions. Meghan Meier-Stohler, ward manager, accompanied the deployment from the beginning: «The system was installed quickly and the user interface is intuitive, which allowed us to get started right away. We have given the system an extensive test and are very satisfied. The interaction with our existing systems – such as EEG measurement – also runs smoothly.»
