QUMEA wins largest European tender for digital mobility monitoring to date
Sweden’s Västra Götaland Region (VGR) will be relying on the Swiss company’s AI-supported technology over the next eight years to improve patient safety in its hospitals.
VGR operates over a dozen hospitals, including Sahlgrenska University Hospital, one of the largest in Europe. Up to 2,400 hospital beds are equipped with the QUMEA system, which records movements anonymously using radar – without cameras or microphones. This means that privacy and data protection are fully protected.
By opting for QUMEA, the region is setting a new standard in the healthcare sector: The technology helps to prevent falls and bedsores, supports care staff and increases patient safety. It also fulfils the highest data protection requirements. VGR deliberately chose a data-saving solution that does not require any personal or visual information. This tender shows how important data protection and innovative technologies are for the future of patient care.

From Switzerland to Iceland: QUMEA Welcomes its 100th Hospital
Landspítali, Iceland’s national university hospital, has become the 100th hospital to implement QUMEA’s radar-based digital mobility monitoring system.

Fewer falls and lighter nursing workload with QUMEA, new study finds
A peer-reviewed study, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society (JAGS), shows: fewer falls and a lighter nursing workload with QUMEA in delirium care. The prospective, controlled study, conducted at the University Center for Geriatric Medicine Felix Platter in Basel, put foresight to the test in one of Europe's most demanding clinical settings for delirium care. The result: QUMEA's contactless, radar-based monitoring was associated with substantially fewer falls and a lighter nursing workload related to bed-exits than a conventional contact mat.
