QUMEA wins largest European tender for digital mobility monitoring to date
Sweden’s Västra Götaland Region (VGR) will be relying on the Swiss company’s AI-supported technology over the next eight years to improve patient safety in its hospitals.
VGR operates over a dozen hospitals, including Sahlgrenska University Hospital, one of the largest in Europe. Up to 2,400 hospital beds are equipped with the QUMEA system, which records movements anonymously using radar – without cameras or microphones. This means that privacy and data protection are fully protected.
By opting for QUMEA, the region is setting a new standard in the healthcare sector: The technology helps to prevent falls and bedsores, supports care staff and increases patient safety. It also fulfils the highest data protection requirements. VGR deliberately chose a data-saving solution that does not require any personal or visual information. This tender shows how important data protection and innovative technologies are for the future of patient care.
